At the dawn of the new millennium, a group of friends from the beautiful country of Wales set out with a simple vision. As the first Welsh distillers in more than a century, they were determined to break with convention and pledged to realise their dream. It is located in the perfect spot, in the old village of Penderyn, nestled in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, and there they have created the best little distillery in Wales. And the smoothest wysgi on earth.
THE SCIENCE OF OUR FARADAY STILL
The whisky still at Penderyn is unlike any other: a single copper pot still that brings forth a flavourful spirit of extraordinary strength and purity. Invented exclusively for Penderyn by Dr David Faraday, descendent of the ground-breaking Victorian scientist, Michael Faraday. The still creates a barley spirit of great finesse, whilst removing certain impurities that traditional pot stills leave behind. At 92% alcohol by volume the new spirit has the highest strength of any malt wysgi; and with just one cask produced every day, it is also exceptionally rare.
